As if there is something symbolic to this place. On the same spot where Aldo Balija once proudly presented his first awarded olive oils, his daughter Nicoletta had opened the first true Istrian pub, offering 50 craft beers from 10 countries including Japanese Hitachino Nest White Ale and Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale. Happy pets run around this lovely arboretum full of olive, fig and hazelnut trees.  The menu lists some 20 Black Angus burgers and a few vegetarian ones, made of lentils and beans. Burgers are as good as you’d expect from Angus beef for a 45-60 kuna price tag. The add-ons are tasty, but salads are boring and grill cook sometimes overcooks the burgers. Hot chicken wings in black beer tempura with BBQ sauce are sensational. Or was it Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Have You Ever Seen The Rain that played while I was placing my order?
