Buščina tavern didn’t want to choose between meat or fish like many other traditional Istrian taverns did. They offer both. Ten years ago, Buščina was one of the first place licensed to prepare and sell Istrian beef or boškarin specialties. Shortly after they were named the best promotors and leading buyers of the boškarin meat. Buščina is also one of the most important participants in Dani švoja, an event promoting sole in gastronomy.  Key to Buščina are Istrian ingredients; from homemade prosciutto, cheese and fresh curd, cuttlefish, squid, molluscs, scampi and sole, to asparagus, truffles and boškarin meat. Regardless the season, in this warm rural-chic tavern fire is always burning in a fireplace so that even in the middle of summer you can have a boškarin tagliata or a big dentex cooked on open fire. Buščina makes its own olive oil and offers a thoughtful choice of wines.
