Gostionica kod Špilje or Grgosova špilja as it is also known, is one of a very few modern traditional restaurants in Croatia. Modern, meaning that rustic local dishes are elaborated and prepared neatly, carefully and imaginatively. At Grgosova špilja they even use few techniques of molecular cuisine. Plates of smoked trout, pasta with wild game goulash or veal roast are huge as they were in old times. They use first class ingredients. The wine list, with a lot of Croatian and a few Slovenian wines, is unusually good for a small village near Zagreb. Reservation is obligatory on weekends.
