Obligatory gourmet address on the Kornati archipelago. Konoba Opat owners, the Božikov family, believe in old-time cooking on open fireplace, under the bell or on the griddle. Aromas of laurel, sage, basil, rosemary and pine nuts ennoble fresh wild fish caught around Kornati islands, accentuated with pickled or salted capers. Opat makes excellent oyster and crab bouillons, tuna or scallops tartare, toro in red wine, Little Neck clams and pine nuts gratin, lobster risotto, John Dory with truffles and imaginative fish and shellfish salads. Opat has a berth for yachts.
