Cooking at the only Croatian restaurant on San Pellegrino’s 100 Best Restaurants of The World (2011. edition) is more conservative than it used to be, but their selection of prime ingredients is still impeccable. At Plavi podrum they treat scampi, fish and white truffles according to modern culinary practices or prepared very simply. The wine list is one of the best in Croatia, with many top Champagnes and a very good choice of Burgundy and Tuscan wines. The atmosphere depends on the weather. Plavi podrum is located in a tiny bay port of Volosko. Sunny days with warm nights make its terrace rather irresistible. Plavi podrum is quite expensive by local standards. Bookings are a must in the summer tourist season.
