Sv. Nikola is on a unique location on the seafront and in historical centre of Poreč, across the island it is named after. Restaurant is open year-round, a miracle in champion of mass tourism that is Poreč. That probably is the reason for a huge, universal and year-round menu in front of the restaurant, but Sv. Nikola is otherwise very good at seasonal cooking. In late May during wild asparagus season they had creamy risotto with firm asparagus and soft prosciutto. Harmonious and balanced taste with savoury and slightly bitter showed they know how to work with seasonal ingredients. Intriguing fettuccine cooked al dente, enriched with scampi and asparagus and named Fettuccine Arte povera give away Sv. Nikola also has some wit. It is not a cheap restaurant, the have only one brand of mineral water, you can have Malvazija that won at Vinistra 2016. but it’s a worthy place Poreč can be proud of.
