They have always served great Istrian prosciutto at Vodnjanka. Proper beef soup, boiled beef and rustic sugo of “old ox” were enjoyed here long before famous Boškarin entered the kitchens. Vodnjanka’s minestras, early cepes, Ceasar’s mushrooms, chanterelles, asparagus frittaias, handmade macarons, gnocchi and fusi with hen, ox or wild game…Svjetlana Celia always had her way with food, from selection of prime ingredients to preparation of excellent old school dishes. When she sneaks out of her kitchen, her sister Vesna takes over as a specialist in pasta mushroom sauces. Thanks to Svjetlana, Vodnjanka has long been an institution of southern Istria. But when she is not around, it’s another story though.
