Some 10 years ago, Josip Galić asserted himself on the Croatian wine scene with unusually stylised, New World Sauvignons. Australian and Californian influence was obvious in his other wines, too. This is the reason his white Cuvee 9 today suffers from a totally atypical excess of new oak. But Galić 2015. Sauvignon is totally different in style. It is an almost Loiresque wine, a vibrant, lithe and intensely aromatic Sauvignon full of refreshing grass, asparagus and unripe cantaloupe aromas, with just the slightest touch of elderflower. With this Sauvignon, Josip Galić once again qualified as one of Slavonia’s top winemakers.
