A poet, a philosopher and a pioneer winemaker from Pelješac peninsula, Frano Miloš created the first cult Croatian wine in the early 90’s. It was magnificent Stagnum, the first Croatian wine to retail for more than 200 kuna (25 euro). Today Stagnums are released after seven or eight years of ageing. The 2003. vintage is just entering the optimal age. Miloš also produces a very good and much less expensive Plavac and some excellent olive oils.
